Our
Ministries
Men’s Ministry: Every month, the men of Redeemer
gather together on Saturday morning for a hot breakfast,
fellowship, a devotional, and prayer. It is a time for renewing
God’s call to be servant leaders within our households, to
minister to one another, and to be witnesses for Christ in our
vocations and neighborhoods.
Women’s Ministry:
Redeemer OPC provides two book
studies for the women, on the first and third Tuesday mornings
and Thursday evenings of every month. This provides a refreshing
atmosphere for fellowship and conversation. The women are also
committed to supporting our missionaries, and providing numerous
opportunities for service. The women’s ministry also hosts two
annual events: mother-daughter banquet, and a Christmas dinner.
Youth Ministry:
Our youth have always been an
integral part of Redeemer. It is our goal to prepare them to be
godly men and women, which we do through Bible studies, service
projects, fellowship times, and much more.
Library Ministry:
“Take up and read!” Redeemer’s
user-friendly, self-service library provides hundreds of
Reformed titles on theology, Christian living, apologetics,
church history, devotions, biographies, and commentaries. There
is also an audio-visual section featuring sermons,
documentaries, and Bible studies for all ages.
Sunday School:
At Redeemer, we seek to educate
our congregation on the Word of God, challenge them to embrace
the Scriptures from a Reformed perspective, and to apply it to
their daily lives. Classes are available for all ages.
Biblical Perspective:
The Biblical Perspectives on the World Committee (BP Committee)
is committed to searching the Scriptures in order to bring the
appropriate principles to bear on current social and cultural
problems and issues (II Timothy 3:16 and 17).
It serves as a forum where believers may encourage and
support each other by praying for one another and for the God
ordained structures in which we live, e.g., family life, civil
life, employment and economic life (I Peter 1:12-17). The BP
Committee seriously promotes the concept that Christians should
live a Christ-centered life in the midst of a fallen world and
culture that is currently in the midst of a moral, religious,
and philosophical crisis and stands in crucial need of renewal
through the clear teaching of Scripture (I Peter 3:15).
When appropriate, the BP Committee makes recommendations
to the Session on how Redeemer OPC may be Biblically involved in
particular areas of our culture (Colossians 1:16-18).
Missions:
Christ told His Church to “make disciples of the nations” (Mt.
28:19). Therefore, Redeemer places a high emphasis on missions.
In addition to supporting the foreign and domestic mission works
sponsored by our denomination, Redeemer also supports missionary
efforts in the Middle East, Peru, India, Philippines, England,
Kenya, and Uganda (http://www.opc.org/).
Wednesday Nights:
Redeemer provides fun and educational events for the family
every Wednesday night. Following a pot-luck meal, members and
visitors are given a choice between two Bible studies, or choir
practice. We hope to see you there!
